Seven Mile...
...Is the name of a spectacular beach that I live on. Pillowy white sand and water as warm as a bathtub, 300 miles south of Cuba. (Local motto: "85 365" [degrees/days] ) The beach is only 5 miles long but it's crescent shaped. If you stretch it out it's a bit over 5 miles but they still call it "Seven Mile Beach". I'm standing knee deep in the water in front of my office (200 feet from where I'm typing this) in the 'my photo' shot... Photo was taken on location by Brian Smith. The main-page 'runway' banner shot was taken from the cockpit jump seat of a Gulfstream 450 on final approach to Owen Roberts International on a flight in 2007 home from SNA (4.6 hrs)
Just wondering if the island is 7 miles in something (width, length, etc)? I'm wondering how the name was chosen.

According to Wiki:
Despite the name, the beach is only about 5.5 miles long and falls victim to annual erosion, which has reduced its size in some areas. Like the rest of Grand Cayman, the development around SMB was severely damaged in Hurricane Ivan in September 2004 but many condominiums & hotels are now running at full or almost full capacity.

Hey Frank -- can you save us a few more keystrokes and set 7mile.com to go to your blog?
Thx!

Frank, did you know I've made 7mile.com my Start page in IE?
You've got so many great articles here it's getting a little unwiedly without a Search box. Is that an option on typepad?
***** Yeah.. blogging for juniors.. no SB :( .. I better keep writing good stuff to justify your visit.

I don't think I ever noticed a Google Page Rank before on your site. Did you just get it? A PR4? Nice way to start.
If so, Congrats!
***FS*** the ultimate irony.. A guy only after type-in traffic gets a PR4 on his blog. Thanks Big 'G'
