Oil and the Internet

...I read this and think about the challenges these co's face (finding smaller fields with shorter lifespans/peaking faster) and when coupled with the challenges facing the US economy/USDollar; I am resigned to the fact that the days of cheap oil are truly over. The amount of infrastructure that has to be replaced the number of people needed to work the fields is just immense.
I like investing in domain-names because the distribution and infrastructure costs online are so much lower. Would you rather own trucks, printing presses, distribution facilities and people with salaries/pensions/health care needs etc.. or would you rather own online assets where you can publish as I am now reaching millions from home.
Clay Shirky an adjunct professor in the graduate interactive telecommunications program at New York University said it best: "We are living through the largest expansion of expressive capability in the history of the human race." Domain names are the great facilitator of that expansion... nothing happens on the internet without a domain name.. nothing.
