"Internet "Click Fraud" Tricks: Domain Name Tasting, Joy Riding, Parking, Kiting and Other Dirty Tricks - a Webcast & In-Person Briefing"

Baby_out_with_bathwater_3Wow, quite a title!  You'd think "nothing good at all" happens at the entrepreneur level on the web or in naming.   Here's the problem I have with this..  You've got no balance on this panel from white-hat mainstream industry operators ..  nobody is on hand to speak for the interests of generic, commercial domain registrants. Trademark interests shape policy in an overbearing enough way as it is..  It's important to provide a voice of reason and counterbalance to avoid all great white-hat operators from joining grayer shades in the UK, China, India, Russia, Brazil and other places..

America can not compete in the 21st century if businesses can not incorporate in America due to poorly written, unbalanced or oppressive laws.

Do you own a domain name?  Can you or another industry participant be at 1133 21st Street, NW Suite 210 Washington, DC tomorrow on Thursday April 26, 2007 - 2pm ET ..  If yes I encourage you to speak and ask questions of this panel of experts.

Nobody likes malicious, deliberate cybersquatting, click-fraud etc...  But having a one sided presentation where there is no panelist to draw a distinction between good and bad,  trademark and generic, black and white, is quite unhealthy for a Country relying more and more on the Internet for Commerce.

I encourage all who know folks in the domain business or those who can be in DC tomorrow afternoon to attend this function.

Forwarded to a couple of friends in DC.

Their heading seems to imply that "Parking" is wrong and one of the dirty tricks on the internet, I'am missing something here?

***FS*** Indeed my point. It's a little late to uniformly and inequitably malign a billion dollar industry employing 10,000 people globally.. but that won't stop some folks from trying :)

Anyone who is trying to ban parking, obviously understands nothing about the way the system works.

Might come as a surprise to some, but a lot of domainers have always had their domain and parking services "off-shore". If the US starts to make it tough for people to do business there, they will simply move the business somewhere else. Unlike a lot business Traffic can be offshored in minutes!

How are they going to achieve their objectives? Would they ban links on Web Pages, or URL forwarding?

Ah, good ole verizon, it's not a party without them... Here's one worth a couple guffaws:
