Godaddy steps in as the likely lifeboat registrar to clean up the mess left by Registerfly's owners. This has been an unrehearsed exercise.. First time an ICANN accreditted registrar has experienced catastrophic mismanagement/failure.
Kudos to ICANN, Godaddy for cleaning up the mess.

I seem to remember having vague memories of a registrar going bust previously and another registrar stepping in to rescue to the registered names. My Memory won't recall on this at the moment, but it must have been in the wake of the Dot Com crash. Admittedly, we didn't have the unseemly behaviour back then.
Can anyone help us out on this one?

David, if I remember correctly the registrar was DotRegistrar, which was purchased by Dotster.

Was it not DotRegistrar, which was purchased by Dotster?
