My bet is Sedo - something funky with reporting, or lack thereof tonight.

But if you know where these releases are prestaged at the online distribution points, you can read about them now.

Here's my guess on this one Frank, Demand Media to acquire SNAPNAMES.COM. How's that for page one!

Hmmmmm.......can't wait to hear the news.
There has been so much happening in our industry lately.
Exciting times, indeed!

I think snapnames makes sense...
sedo is already part of a large european public company (united-internet/(adlink- specifically)/1and1)

enom = snapnames would make sense.

***FS*** HAAA!~

Nah. The story is...
Frank Shilling buys Snapnames.

Actually Rob, I've been depressed thinking about what's going to happen in the next 30 days, especially as Tarfic opens, because eventually Google will buy everyone up and then we'll have nothing to talk about all day any more.
It's like dominos, whomever makes the first move will validate the other to move in and write the rest of the story. I can actually predict the future by looking at my blog stats and seeing who follows what. Don't think Whizzbang's How Microsoft Can Kill Google wasn't an eye-opener and the Ham/Marchex/Name Media PR timings were more than coincidental. Oh you've got to love the Internet. Is just "fabulous" isn't it?

Fabulous indeed.

My bet is Marchex being taken over. Lot of significant block trades going on there lately...
***FS*** Interesting ..

Photon takeover bid for DBS closed without proceeding in April. New CEO contract just signed on May 8th to take effect July 1st through 2009 contains standard language that allows CEO opt-out in the event of a merger. Also, time of announcement is closer to AUS time. Fab is a GREAT registrar. Let's hope that if they are the take-out target, that most staff and operating policies remain in place.

Marchex is definately in play. And also on pacific time :(

Since Snapnames announced it would be handling Enom's expired names, it might just be Demand buying Snap.
We will know soon enough :)

Marchex having a down day after lots of up moves - would be an odd pattern with an impending announcement.
Posted by: Jeff Reynolds | May 31, 2007 at 03:33 PM
Frank. Google bought blogger and validated blogging. Google bought youtube and validated video. Will Google buy Marchex or Demand Media and validate domains? Maybe MS or Yahoo will be a first mover in the domain game and buy their way in. Why pay domain owners for all those clicks? Why not keep 100% of the ad rev AND brand ALL the domains in the portfolio.
If there was not an announcement this morning about a private company purchase then maybe an announcement after the bell for a public company?
Maybe Marchex?

Let's hope it's Marchex- I backed up the truck on that 2 weeks ago.

"Unknown" company buys larger well-known domain company.

Come on Frank make the announcement, we all have already received the call.
***FS*** I hate suspense.. had the post written this AM :(
