.CM Domains Now Resolving to Microsoft, Google?

Sahar points out that the Government of Cameroon's .CM wildcard is no longer active.  Either its operator or the Cameroonian Government have taken the feature down.  Yes, all of us who belly-ached about this egregious inequity in the browser can sure sleep tight now...  "NOT"!

Dot_cmThe majority of the Internet and I use Internet Explorer with standard settings, so now that the .cm wildcard is inactive, all those versions of your website spelled with country code .cm as well as the non-existent .xom, .cpm, .nert, .anything mis-spelled to the right of the dot, flow to Bill Gate's house in Redmond.

Thanks for nothing Bill ..  you too Steve.  :)  If you use Firefox to avoid all this crap (and you keep standard settings) .. you're not really doing any better. Your misspells now probably get monetized through Google.Evil

Nice n' evil .. I mean easy.

Sahar_4Thanks again for the pickup Sahar :)

that sucks.............. Kevin Ham where are you lol...

I guess he should have kept quiet and not done the Business 2.0 interview etc. He got alot of people jealous :-).

***FS*** Kevin is a very clever, warm hearted person.. I have a feeling things will work out okay for him in the end.

I don't doubt it for a second. Kevin is working on exciting projects these days and we're all lucky to have him around, not around as in the domain business, but around as a human being. He is one of those that work to earn with the outlook to give it back.
I'm truly thankful to have him as a friend, and as inspiration.

one more reason to NEVER EVER talk to reporters.

$10 says the politicians in Cameroon that did this deal had no idea it would become a huge International news story.

$20 shows that the cameroon staff running the .cm registry were corrupt and pocketing 80% of the profit. (explaining the "wild card" as a special service to direct them to a directory.)

$30 says that the government didnt realise how much money .cm would produce before they did the deal with Kevin Ham

$40 says I will drink a glass of water in the next 10min.

***FS*** lol :))

$40 says its a scam any way you slice it

Last one, and I will up the ante to $60 just in case there is a $50 ahead of me (I like winning the bid). The reason that it is likely a scam is because the people of Cameroon are probably not being served with hardly any of their nations rightful wealth that this spawns. As far as I know .cm is the only wealth of the country, although I got a killer drum from Cameroon too and I recommend you do the same. Peace.

***FS*** Thanks for that Mr. Mann.
