Free Domain Appraisal Opportunities
***FS*** Thanks man.. I love blogging but have to spend some time with the fam too :) This leapfish product is exactly what I was talking about (I hadn't seen it previously) but it needs tweaking.. I entered the following names:
freemaps.com ... Leapfish.com says: $33,884.00 (I've turned down $100,000)
antarctica.com ... Leapfish.com says $14,508.00 (I've turned down 300k and think it's worth 1mm)
frankschilling.com ... Leapfish.com says $1,196.00 (I think its worthless as a name because there aren't that many of us.. or it's potentially priceless if two of us are rich and want it)
Bottom line, this tool is going in the right direction but needs work.. First guy (or gal) who nails this in terms of offering an updating version could make a lot of money selling ads and licensing to rating agencies. Marchex is not the last co. to go public in the domain space but they could use quarterly leapfish valuations in order to protect management from lawsuits arising from selling domain names too cheaply.. think about other co's going public this year who make more of their revenues selling names.. catch my drift?
As a sidebar, those of you heading to Disney, I highly recommend the 'VIP tour service'.. Book ahead. Our guide Jeremy is just terrific. Crazy good service.. never going to Disney any other way again. Backdoors and shortcuts .. woo hoo.

I found leapfish to be a great typing practice utility.

Just tried out the engine and I agree with you that it is a good start. I compared my professional appraisials with theirs and in a couple of cases they valued the domains at about 5% of what I just sold it for. the one thing that they stil have yet to figure out is to add a premium for the industry of the domain, once that happens it could be a good engine.

I think antarctica.com is worth alot more than even you think it's worth.
7 nations have territorial claims to it, and in a decade or two it'll be sandy beaches, green, a balmy 75 degrees and the preferred home of international retirees.
***FS*** Ha!~

LeapFish has Creditcheck.com appraised for $6,141.00. The name just sold for 3 million today at Moniker's auction. This is how laughable these appraisals & experts are ... ask Rick & Sahar about.

Retire.com on LeapFish = $76
Please tell the owners of Retire.com that I'll be generous and give them a c-note for it :)

It'll still be continuously dark for 6 months each year, no matter what the temperature.
Land to buy: Canada, Russia, Scandinavia, Alaska, Greenland - below the Arctic Circle.
Canadian citizens can claim suitable land right now just by putting up fences and squatting on it. If you've got a family memeber doing nothing who can stand the cold, get 'em up there now, plotting out your claim.
Hudson Bay: the new Miami.
