The Brilliant 'Aaron Wall' Writes...

Aaron ""Hi Frank

Figured you would appreciate this

http://peoplefalltv.wordpress.com/
official people brand site sitting on Wordpress.com

they are a full 8% of Wordpress.com's traffic!
http://www.quantcast.com/wordpress.com

also it should be trivial for you to move your blog to FrankSchilling.com or SevenMile.com but the longer you wait to change it the more it will hurt if you ever decide to.""

***FS*** Thanks Aaron!  You and others who have advised me on this are absolutely correct..  When I started my blog I had no idea where it would go or that people would actually read it.  I just thought I'd play around with it and publish a few tidbits for even fewer folks. Flash-forward to today and I should have anchored it to a URL of my own. I don't plan on ever making money "from" my blog so I've perceived less of an urgency to switch ...  but "People"?  A magazine which makes its money from publishing?..  It should know better than to anchor to a Wordpress URL.

I always come to this blog via sevenmile.com. I wonder if you can search how most sites link to this blog, via the typepad url or one of the redirects?

It's an easy fix when you change, just put together a list of 301 redirects. =)

If you do a simple frame redirect (as opposed to URL redirect) to "http://frankschilling.typepad.com" visitors would only see "7mile.com" or "sevenmile.com" in the URL bar. Just another option for you to consider...

Hi,

Looks like 'someone' registered: peoplefalltv.com today. LOL

Dan

I refer a lot of people to this site Frank via 7mile.com so maybe 301 that at sevenmile.com and also this blog. Alway struck me as weird and a little strange you'd start-up a blog on typepad. Would be nice to have a solid place to refer people too. Wooo, referals :D

So now that your blog has turned out to have much wider exposure that you anticipated, does that affect how often you post, and what you write? Do you feel an obligation to your reading public?

***FS*** I certainly do.. but can only do so much without giving up quality of life/family time. I's a balancing act. Still very rewarding tho

I was one of the first reader to point to Frank about using typepad.com for his blog and he FS my post that he will do when he get around it, I know Frank does not make any money on this blog but honestly this can be a business by itself, so to have its domain name will be a good move, and for a domainer like Frank we expect more Mate.

For some weird reason which I can't explain it always annoy me to see this blog under typepad, anyway I shouldn't I spouse.
I real like the contents and I have to come here everyday, whatever he decide to point those contents to

There must be something wrong with the statistics, but there is no way that that site is getting 8% of all wordpress's traffic.

One of the changing ads slots shown above the Greys Anatomy piece was an interesting first from one of the three terrestrial UK TV channels http://www.itvlocal.com/ all about selling local services.(flexing some muscle)

this information is useful and interesting to me ;), thanks you!
