Hey Frank,
I'd like your take on articles like these:
http://dfinitive.com/blog/seo/how-i-got-aerobed-to-number-1-in-google/
Isn't it interesting how different people choose to spend their time on different things with a very different return on investment?
We all have 24h in our days. Some work for 5$/h, some others for $5000/h. What makes the difference between these men and their choices? Isn't it interesting how some people will work very hard and others very smart, perhaps so smart that they can retire to the Bahamas and spent their time writing a blog for fun while dancing around their computers?

PS/ worth also noting that this gentleman and others in the SEO business not only have to be learning huge amounts of info every month to keep up to date, but also, their return on investment is completely irregular and unstable, depending on what Google chooses to favour next time they update their algorithm...

***FS*** That last PS is a great point Javier.. that has always been my problem with SEO.. SEM is considerably better because he (or she) who spends the money.. gets the traffic. Life has always been like that.. As well as you can do with domains there are guys who make billions trading futures in hydrogen who scratch their head wondering why we all waste 'our' time. That's life I guess. You need to find a level where you feel comfortable/happy.

There are opportunities everywhere,... but you must invest in what you know and understand. And you do not really understand something unless you can explain it to your grandmother (that's from Albert Einstein :-)

***FS*** Love it.

Hi Guys,

What is the value of a domain name, many people have asked me and I try to explain but people just don't understand. I own a couple of city domain names, one of them received over 1Mil unique visitors with ZERO advertising. But some of the "older" power people in the area are still being told by the their marketing partner that a domain name is NOT important or even the key words in the domain name!!! When people offer me $50k for my domain I point out that it is not a domain name they are trying to purchase but CONTROL and INFLUENCE!! I could put our town is closed down due to X and 20% of all reservation would be cancelled. But now I pose this question to you Frank, how does one put a value on a City domain name? Vegas.com has built a small empire with it's domain name and working with the guy that owns LasVegas.com! So what are your thoughts, Frank.

***FS*** Okay.. I'll bite.. what's the name?.. If it's columbine.com it generates different user intent than niagarafalls.com which generates different intent than branson.com which generates still different intent than seattle.com .. see what I mean?

Love this. Would love to hear what the MOBI enthusiast tells his grandmother.
